Delete unused variables

With Extras > Delete unused variables... you can remove unused variables from the POU headers listed in the POU pool or from global variable lists in the GVL pool.

NOTE

You can only delete unused variables if they have not been used in the respective POU bodies.
POUs and the GVL in user libraries are not taken into consideration.

You can choose the following options:

Delete	Delete in
Unused local variables	Entire project All unused local variables of all POU headers will be deleted. Selected POUs in the navigator All unused local variables of the selected POUs will be deleted. Multi-selection is possible. Current declaration editor All unused local variables of the open POU editor will be deleted.
Unused external variables	Entire project All unused external variables of all POU headers will be deleted. Selected POUs in the navigator All unused external variables of the selected POUs will be deleted. Multi-selection is possible. Current declaration editor All unused external variables of the open POU editor will be deleted. In case a GVL editor is open, all unused external variables of the open GVL editor will be deleted from the referenced POU.
Unused global variables	Entire project All unused global variables of all GVLs will be deleted Current declaration editor All unused global variables of the open GVL editor will be deleted.
